Ruslana Korshunova was a Kazakh fashion model who appeared on the cover of Elle and Vogue magazines and in ad campaigns for DKNY, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs and others. On June 28, 2008, Korshunova died after falling from the balcony of her ninth-floor apartment in New York City. Police reported that there were no signs of struggle in her apartment and consider the case a suicide.
